What's the difference between an open and closed advertising network?
A closed ad network is one where there is no direct communication between affiliate and merchant, everything is directed by the network. A merchant offering his website for advertising to a closed network would not know which affiliates are advertising his campaign. An open network is one where merchants can run their own affiliate programs with direct relations to affiliates, the network simply provides the framework for both parties to independently participate in an affiliate program. In an open network, a merchant can decide which affiliates to allow in their program, which campaigns these affiliates can see, recruit his own affiliates, decide what rates they are paid, etc. MaxBounty.com is an open advertising network.

What are MaxBounty's fees to merchants?
New merchants pay a $500 first campaign set up fee taken from an initial deposit of at least $1000. We charge a 20% network fee for every lead/sale generated with a minimum fee of $0.20 per transaction. Merchants can list more than one campaign under their affiliate program at MaxBounty. Each extra campaign beyond the first has a $100 set up fee.

Is there a minimum monthly fee for merchants?
Yes, there is a minimum monthly network fee of $50. This means all self-directed merchant accounts must generate sufficient leads/sales in any given month so as to total a minimum of $50 in network commission for MaxBounty, otherwise the difference will be charged to their account. For example:
  • Merchant #1 generates $475 worth of affiliate earnings across his campaigns in January. The network's 20% fee on his campaigns works out to $95.00. He is above the $50 minimum network fee, so there is no additional charge for him on Feb 1st.
  • Merchant #2 generates $175 worth of affiliate earnings across his campaigns in January. The network's 20% fee on his campaigns works out $35. He is below the $50 minimum network fee, so he is charged the difference of $15 on Feb 1st.

Are merchants required to maintain a minimum balance?
Yes, merchants must keep a balance of no less than $250 at all times. Any less and there's the chance an affiliate could send an influx of traffic and completely drain the merchant's account. If a merchant's account balance hits zero, their program is temporarily deactivated from network and all tracking is stopped until a new deposit is made. This would surely anger the affiliates participating in that affiliate program, so we strongly recommend merchants use our automatic deposit feature to ensure their balance never drops below the minimum level.

What's the automatic deposit feature?
Merchants can set their accounts to automatically charge a credit card with a specified dollar amount when their account balance falls below our $250 minimum level. That way, their affiliate program is never in danger of running out of funds.

Are MaxBounty merchants limited to promoting a single website?
No. A one-up that MaxBounty has on competing ad networks is that merchants can list multiple websites under a single affiliate program. For example, if you have two different websites and were seeking an affiliate program for both, traditional networks would force you to have two separate accounts. That would entail paying two different set up fees, two different minimum network charges, and affiliates under one program couldn't automatically advertise the other program (you would have to re-recruit them). With MaxBounty, merchants get one global affiliate program with as many websites under it as they wish. Each website or campaign is housed within their affiliate program, so all their affiliates could advertise any campaign in the merchant's program. There is no limit to the number of campaigns a merchant can have under one affiliate program. There is a one-time set up fee of $100 per extra campaign.

Is there any benefit for a merchant to recruit his own affiliates?
MaxBounty provides the framework for merchants to run their own cost-effective affiliate programs. MaxBounty does have a pool of affiliates who will see a new merchant's affiliate program and some will sign up for it. However it is much to a merchant's benefit to recruit his own affiliates in addition to working with the already-established MaxBounty affiliates. Beyond the obvious benefit of getting more traffic by recruiting their own affiliates, merchants earn a referral bonus for every affiliate they bring to MaxBounty. The referral bonus applies to affiliates who are not already participating in MaxBounty. Merchant can refer webmasters to sign up as affiliates and earn 5% of their total earnings across all MaxBounty affiliate programs for 12 months. There is no limit to the amount merchant can earn through referrals.

Can affiliates refer other publishers too?
Yes, affiliates can refer other webmasters to sign up as publishers and they earn 5% of their earnings for 12 months. There is no limit to the amount affiliates can earn through referrals.

What is MaxBounty's policy on adware
There are certain downloadable applications that allow third parties to overwrite network tracking links and essentially steal commission from affiliates. Such rogue companies are not welcome to participate in the MaxBounty.com network. Any such affiliate applying to MaxBounty will be immediately rejected, and any current affiliates found breaking these terms will be rejected. Inclusive to our rejections are also websites using forced installs to show advertisements, spyware of any kind, or affiliates redirecting traffic from third parties that use the type of adware that is contrary to our adware policy.

When are affiliates paid?
We payout to affiliates on a net 15 day schedule. For example, leads generated during the month of January would be totaled on February 1st and paid out February 15th.

How are affiliates paid?
Affiliates can receive payment via check, auto-deposit into their bank account, or PayPal. Full details can be
found here.

How are stats reported?
Most campaigns report statistics in real time, meaning there should be no delay between when a lead is generated and when you can see it in your statistics.

What is incentive traffic and is it allowed?
Yes, incentive publishers are allowed to join MaxBounty but should be aware that not all merchants and campaigns on the network accept incentive traffic. Traffic is deemed as incentive traffic when a reward of some kind is offered to a surfer in exchange for either clicking on an advertisement or signing up for an advertised product or service.

What is sub-ID tracking and does it work?
Sub-ID tracking allows an affiliate to pass extra data through a tracking click that can be reported back to them after a lead is generated. For example, affiliates with rewards programs use this feature to find out which of their members completed actions and should be compensated. Full details on how to use sub-ID tracking can be
found here.

Do you accept email advertising?
Yes we accept email marketing affiliates, but we do not tolerate SPAM in anyway, and affiliates should know that each affiliate program has their own policies which govern email advertising. Email publishers must adhere to the laws pertinent to email advertising, including the CanSpam law of 2003.

What can I do if I lost my password?
Both affiliates and merchants can plug their email address into this form and their password will be emailed to them.
